- Rate – £380 – 400 per day – Outside IR35

We require a Data analyst to support the sourcing, acquisition and integration of Health data into the GHW Data Lake and Data Warehouse
The candidate will work within the GHW Data team and report directly to the project manager and data architect.
1. Review and understand the user’s requirements, and work with the data architect to ensure ingested data integrates with existing data models, and that new data model/data mart design aligns with conformed dimensions in the GHW and D&A data architectures.
2. With reference to the Data Acquisition, lead engagement with both internal and external data suppliers in the procure of data that fulfils requirements.
a. Facilitate data workshops with suppliers.
b. Understand local data governance requirements and assist with relevant data privacy approvals.
c. Procurement of test data files where available.
d. Document findings and work with the data architecture team to provide data ingestion users stories for the data engineering team.
e. Facilitate ongoing Q&A sessions between Data Team and Suppliers as needed.
f. Support both development and testing activity, including the creation of acceptance criteria.
Be an SME in Health data or have demonstrable experience in sourcing data from health providers, or working with health data.
Analytical and problem-solving skills. You can apply analytical techniques to present a solution.
Communication skills. You have strong verbal and written communication skills and understand how to share insights with stakeholders.
Data management. You understand data sources, data organisation and data management best practices.
Data modelling, data cleansing, and data enrichment skills. You understand Kimball DW modelling and are able to develop conceptual data models for the data architecture team, in order to translate these into logical and physical data models for Cloud environments (Azure Synapse desirable). Have a core understanding and appreciation of data cleansing and standardisation approaches for data pipelines.
Quality assurance, validation and data integration abilities. You are familiar with data quality assurance approaches and techniques, data validation and linkage data integration best practices.
Ability to work in an Agile way. Are familiar with Agile ways of working (Scrum/Kanban). Be able to pivot quickly between tasks based upon the availability/pace of engagement that maybe dictated by the data supplier.
