Role: Engineering Lead

Location: London, Nottingham or Glasgow (Hybrid working)

Benefits: Up to £75,000 + 10%-15% Bonus and more

Are you an expert engineer with vast team management and team building experience looking for an opportunity within a globally recognised company? Our client is a market leading company within the data space and are currently on the lookout for an Engineering Lead to help grow the core business whilst bringing new innovative data products which will benefit customers. They work with businesses from a large number of industries in order to grow and assist in decision making.

  • Deliver resilient and quality software. Developed in order to support strategy, roadmaps, customer deliveries, and target outcomes for all products in the domain.
  • Provide leadership and support to one or more Agile delivery teams ensuring that best practice software development principals are held.
  • Work with Product Owners and Domain Leaders to create the technology roadmap to achieve business goals and provide a sustainable platform for future growth and operational needs.
  • Build and maintain high performing, effective and successful software engineering teams.
  • Develop and implement new approaches to accelerate time to value delivery.
  • Execute and optimize productivity to achieve budget / outcome expectations.
  • Recruiting high performing engineering talent into the teams.
  • Manage team performance and development, developing and promoting the teams culture.
  • Drive increased engagement through regular communication and feedback and appropriate reward and recognition tools.
  • Design and implement metrics to evaluate performance across key dimensions of delivery.


  • Can demonstrate 5+ years commercial experience managing and developing successful software Engineering teams.
  • Experience leading Agile teams to successfully deliver large value outcomes.
  • A self-starter able to take on complex technical challenges and find solutions through various means.
  • Experience of delivering products using agile development methodology techniques, working directly with developers/technical teams.
  • Experience traversing the landscape of technologies, 3rd party suppliers, internal and cross-department teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and a good understanding of the use of different channels and formats.
  • Experience working with diverse teams across multiple locations, on or offshore.
  • Organised, identifying, prioritising and delegating tasks within a team.


(Would be good to have some not all)

  • Familiarity with development/agile tooling such as Jira, Mural, Confluence
  • DevOps experience of Bitbucket and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience of cloud development using AWS or Windows Azure
  • Experience delivering large transformational programmes
  • Strong .NET Core/Framework experience
  • Entity Framework & Databases (SQL Server/SQL Azure)
  • Azure (Web Apps, Functions, Redis, Key Vault, SQL Azure)
