Responsibilities:

As the Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing the professional growth of your engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence. You will serve as both a thought leader and a line manager, guiding your team to new heights of success. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Shape the technical direction of your teams and the broader engineering department in collaboration with different teams.
  • Create a nurturing environment for your team, encouraging open communication and empowering them to excel in their work.
  • Lead your team in the development of clean and simple APIs that enable both internal and external customers to book and manage products from multiple providers.
  • Drive the creation of new APIs within a micro-service architecture, utilising technologies such as .NET Core and Node, and embracing cutting-edge cloud solutions, such as AWS.
  • Implement and oversee CI/CD pipelines to support seamless development and deployment processes.
  • Focus on enabling rapid onboarding of new products and suppliers, while enhancing the maintenance and extensibility of existing services.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within your engineering team.
  • Act as a technical expert and provide guidance to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the alignment of technical solutions with overall business objectives.
  • Proactively address and resolve any technical challenges and roadblocks that may arise during the development process.
  • Maintain a forward-looking approach to technology trends and industry best practices to keep the team at the forefront of technological advancements.

  • Track record of successful line management, showcasing improvements in team members’ skills and abilities.
  • A deep-rooted product mindset, with a focus on delivering tangible outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills to foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Extensive experience in technical delivery and mastery of Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in both object-oriented and functional software development, coupled with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Dedication to the principles of software craftsmanship, promoting high-quality, rigorously tested, and resilient services.
  • Strong belief in product ownership, with a commitment to both delivery and operation responsibilities.
  • Competency in test-driven development.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and assessing emerging technologies and practices to enhance the platform.
  • Hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, Node, and AWS.
  • Experience with a range of data storage options including NoSQL, relational databases, data lakes.
