Head of Environment – Cloud

This is a great opportunity for someone with a mix of line management, architecture, strategy and delivery experience to combine this into a new, business critical, position. The role is broad, covering Cloud based environments, automation, DevOps, capacity planning, release management, performance analysis – basically everything needed for building an Enterprise class environment.
You will be responsible for the Group non-production and production environments, ensuring the environments to deliver technology is scalable, easy to deploy, and cost-effective to manage.
You will be responsible for low level solution design, working alongside the architectural function to drive enterprise ready solutions that are fit for purpose.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the capacity, configuration, versioning and alignment of all associated systems, components, applications, services etc. are known, maintained and updated for utilisation across the stack by a variety of teams.
You’ll also be accountable for the non-production environments including their suitability for changes, consistency and stability.
You will have a platform technology team to support you, along with the wider design teams.

We need someone who has worked in a similar role – who really understands Cloud based environments, automation, DevOps, capacity planning, release management, and can help build the capability of the environment.
* Cloud experience will ideally be AWS or Azure
* Excellent knowledge of capacity planning and performance analysis for high availability IT service
* Advanced knowledge of designing and implementing performance reporting across multiple teams.
* High standard of numeracy and understanding of statistics especially methods of regression
