Global Head of IT Infrastructure

Due to internal promotion, we are currently searching for a Global Head of IT Infrastructure for this busy company in the legal space

You will lead the global infrastructure team, delivering and maintaining IT infrastructure and security technology services and operations

You will have direct line management responsibility of the global IT Team, covering storage, servers and virtualisation, networks, security and telephony – using your excellent leadership skills to inspire the team to provide reliable, available, secure, scalable technology solutions, outstanding customer service, and ensure suitable processes and policies are in place to meet the needs of the company.

You will demonstrate a structured approach to developing architectures, designs and strategies, and strong technical awareness across all infrastructure areas and it is expected that a certain amount of hands-on technical knowledge and involvement will be required, in at least one infrastructure technology area.

You will be accountable for the quality of service and performance of the team including the delivery of services within relevant Service Level Agreements and KPIs and acting as an internal escalation point for operational or security incidents.

You will also be required to demonstrate strong analysis and project management skills, in order to gather and define requirements, manage small technology projects and BAU initiatives, and participate in large projects in various capacities.

You will have proven experience in a similar role, leading teams of 10 – 15, ideally covering multiple locations – providing IT services to a global user base

You are a seasoned IT manager and have a diverse background of IT service delivery, technical operations and support, strong project and vendor management skills.

A strong understanding is expected of technology concepts in the following areas:

  • Wired LAN/WAN & Wireless Networking
  • Network Security & Firewalls
  • Telephony & Video Conferencing
  • Windows Server & Core Services
  • Server Hardware & Virtualisation
  • Storage and Backup
  • Email and Web Technologies
  • Databases and Applications

Along with an ability to demonstrate senior level hands-on technical expertise in a number of the following specific technologies:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019
  • VMware ESXi and vCenter
  • Active Directory, Group Policy and Microsoft core services
  • NetApp / Tintri Storage
  • Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop / Netscaler / ADC
  • Brocade/Rukus/Extreme/Aerohive Networking
  • Checkpoint Firewalls
  • Silverpeak SD-WAN
  • Microsoft 365 / Azure AD
  • Solarwinds & On-Command Monitoring
  • Skype for Business & Sonus/Ribbon SBC
  • Microsoft Exchange 2016/2019
