  • Location: Fully remote with 1 day per month in the Berkshire office
  • Type: Permanent / Full Time
  • Salary – Upto £70k base + benefits

Key responsibilities

  • Develop well structured, maintainable code and thoroughly test your own work.
  • Solve problems, offer alternative options/compromises and present new ideas to the wider team.
  • Own the technical strategy from the very start of projects with touch points throughout the project cycle.
  • Stay one step ahead during a project and foresee any potential issues or errors before they occur; communicating process and restriction to the wider team.
  • Have an eye for detail and ensure that all work produced within the team is in-line with briefs, scopes and business objectives.
  • Display a deep appreciation and understanding for best development practices and ensure all team members follow these guidelines.
  • Translate your understanding of technical requirements, issues and queries to Project Managers, other employees along with clients.
  • Coach and mentor more junior members of the team
  • Maintain a good awareness of developments in the industry, assessing technical options, assisting others and sharing knowledge in order to improve development strategy, standards and develop better ways of working.
  • Be influential in decision making and shape the outcome of pitches and scoping; including writing technical responses for pitches and coming up with technical solutions.
  • Quote and estimate projects, giving timescales and highlighting risks

Required experience

  • 5+ years web development experience.
  • A developer with a passion to share knowledge and experience to colleagues.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, Javascript, HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter or similar MVC frameworks.
  • Experience developing RESTFul APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Design Patterns (PHP).
