Role: Project Manager & Major Incident Manager (Managed Print Services)

Location: Hybrid, mainly remote but must be able to visit Sheffield Data Centre once per week

Term: 12 Month Contract (Inside IR35)

Start: ASAP, preference for immediately available candidates

Are you a pro-active & motivated hands on Project Manager with a background in Incident and Major Incident Management? Ideally you will have experience in a Managed Print Services (MPS) environment although this is not essential as long as you can demonstrate transferrable skills and experience.

Our client are a Global IT Service Provider supporting an international financial organisation with Managed Print Services (MPS). They require a Project Manager who will also be responsible for Major Incident Management to act as a focal point for internal partners and the customer to develop and provide end to end project creation and support for larger projects attached to a Global managed print services (MPS) contract.

Objectives

  • To achieve a smooth transition from sales to delivery using known and effective methodologies e.g. Global Method and IT Service Management
  • To manage, coordinate and deliver the agreed MPS solution to the customer
  • Act upon and resolve issues quickly and effectively with internal and external partners
  • To manage expectations to agreed service deliverables
  • To manage the defined MPS deployment budget to ensure cost effective delivery of the project
  • To identify and manage customer and company risks in respect of the MPS deployment project
  • To establish and enable effective communication links between the customer and the MPS deployment parties to facilitate successful deployment of MPS

Responsibilities

Major incident handling:

  • Managing Major Incidents, ensuring that they are logged, progressed, updated, authorised, expedited, and resolved within the agreed timeframes
  • Own and issue all communications during a Major Incident, both internally to company management and to the customer
  • Chairing conference calls with relevant participants including senior management, driving investigation and recovery activity via action plans
  • Ensuring that appropriate internal and vendor / supplier escalation occurs
  • Identifying appropriate timelines and targets for recovery actions, feedback, and communications

Project Management:

Skills, Background

  • Operation and customer support experience
  • Project Management experience
  • ITIL Foundation Certification or working towards accreditation (preferred)
  • PMP certification or working towards accreditation (preferred)
  • Prince2 certification or working towards accreditation
  • Risk management skills

  • Strong planning skills
  • Communication skills: ability to communicate at highest levels within an organization; employ active listening skills and ability to adjust messages to audience level

Preferred

  • Broad knowledge of HP printer hardware and software
  • Effective presentation skills (speaking effectively, adjusting messages to audience level)
  • Business/technical analysis skills. Technical awareness and ability to interpret and translate technical documentation and conversations
  • A strong track record in Project Management gained through significant proven experience of managing complex IT projects, with recognized Project Certifications (e.g. PMP, PMI, Prince2)
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm
