Project Management Team Manager

We are looking for a People focussed Team Manager with experience in managing a team of Project Management professionals who wants to join a busy IT transformation and change team! Is this you? Then read on…
In this busy position you will manage a team of 30 from a people management perspective. You will coach and mentor, co-ordinate and grow the team.
You will oversee the project management capability for the function and be responsible for quality, development, recruitment, growth and performance of the project management team.
This will include
* Ensure the project management pool is always right sized and skilled for the change demands of the business and manage resource allocation to the business streams
* Provide management, development and support for the Project Management Team including training, 1:1s, and guidance, mentoring and career development.
* Promote, build and maintain stakeholder relationships
* Continually assess and improve the Project management capability.
* Provide direction and guidance on Project management best practice
* Build a continual improvement framework for the project management function
* Contribute to and maintain the quality of the Project management framework
* Develop the business and systems knowledge to provide a flexible, scalable and skilled Project Management team across multiple business streams and sites.
* Oversee recruitment of project management vacancies

This is role is all about people – you will be passionate about people and people management and as such come from a people focussed role with a strong understanding of project management – you don’t need to have been a Project Manager yourself, but we do need:
* Experience Managing and running a team of Project managers and a multi-disciplined and Multi methodology delivery function is essential.
* Experience and track record in delivering project management services using modern tools and techniques across major and minor change.
* Track record in people management!
* Experience in financial services or another regulated environment
