The Role

The primary role of Scrum Master/ Technical BA is to oversee the scrum team and delivery of sprints and to provide technical requirements for the completion of user stories, serving as a bridge between product owner/ management and the development team.

The role is full time 5 days per week, Woodbridge/ Cambridge office based with visits to the other site and some home working.

Responsibilities

Principal accountabilities and responsibilities will include:

· Write requirements from a technical perspective for Development Team completion, based on BA Team user stories/ specs

· Analyse technical /business impact of proposed changes to the product

· Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups

· Clear obstacles and remove blockages to achieve team sprint success

· Facilitate a good Scrum environment, conditioning and empowering the team to be self-managed

· Build team cohesion and foster good communication amongst the development teams

· Keep project stakeholders up to date with scrum team progress against objectives

· Escalate risks, resource gaps and delays as needed

· Maintain and manage JIRA Kanban/ project boards

Essential Skills / Experience

· Familiarity with Agile software development and test cycle

· Excellent knowledge of Agile, Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)

· Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation and leadership skills

· Assertive qualities – must be able to ensure Agile/ Scrum concepts/ principles are adhered to, be the voice of reason and authority amongst the team

· Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability

· Technical knowledge

· Use of JIRA or similar tool

· Security Clearance & NPPV3 is essential

· Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as either Scrum Master or Business Analyst

  • Experience in a scrum master role
  • Business Analysis qualification
  • Scrum master certification
  • Work experience on other project phases like programming, implementation and testing
  • Knowledge of law enforcement organisation structures, functions and needs
