Software Engineering Discipline Lead

Contract – 6 months

£750 per day (Inside IR35)

London

Looking for a Software Engineering Discipline Lead for a 6 month contract based in London.

Overall

  • Must be “self-motivated” and able to work in a complex delivery environment
  • Represent testing and QA best practice within their team and able to be pragmatic in their use of Agile techniques
  • Must be a “team-player” with the ability to work within a collaborative environment

Support the product development process

  • Management of test team deliverables as part of an iterative approach
  • Ensure there is constant visibility of overall defect levels and trends for their product team
  • Support a Test Driven Development approach with their product team
  • Ensure, where possible, that an automated approach is being taken to testing

Support the Product Owner/Manager

  • Provide visibility of defects and defect trends
  • Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs

Support the Product Team
Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices for testing and QA
Able to pro-actively work with the team, product owner and Scrum Master to remove testing and QA related impediments to delivery
Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution on Testing and QA related matters

Test professional with experience of working on large scale agile projects, and working in an environment which is running multiple concurrent Scrums.

  • Experience of using Agile approaches such as TDD, User Stories, Release Planning, Retrospectives.
  • A strong technical/software development background will be essential including building, motivating and managing the performance of a QA teams.
  • Experience of a range of test automation tools.
  • Experience of working on Enterprise scale technology solutions is desirable.
