Technical Project Manager

Hybrid – between office in Cambridgeshire and home

Up to £62,000 plus package

We are working with a HR and Payroll consultancy to recruit a Technical Project Manager for their growing team based in Cambridgeshire. Reporting to the IT Director, you will be working closely with Project Sponsors and senior stakeholders, where you will surface and communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant project information to stakeholders, manage business and technology risks, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

This opportunity will play a key role as the company enters a period of systems change, streamlining of processes with technologies such as Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the end-to-end lifecycle of technology projects across the business including:

  • Working with Business Analysts in scoping and definition of projects, using your business case expertise to understand requirements, shape initial requests, and provide high-level estimates of effort and cost
  • Understand technology capabilities and works with the business functions to define and validate system requirements. Assist with functional specifications and system design specifications that can be used by internal teams and partners to build solutions
  • Document the desired outcome of a request, decides on effectiveness of existing service offerings, and consider creation of new initiatives where relevant
  • Facilitate a continuous planning process. Work with business units to manage and prioritise projects. Analyse potential solutions to estimate value to the organisation and ROI

The Candidate:

  • Strong project management skills including project planning, issue, risk and change management essential – PRINCE 2 qualification is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering projects to budget, on time, and with the requisite level of quality
  • Strong communication skills with proven stakeholder management
  • Experience of delivering transformation in CRM, Finance, Infrastructure and cloud technologies and systems (Microsoft NAV is a nice to have)
  • Experience in delivery lifecycle processes such as CAB, TDA and testing (UAT)
  • Experience in agile delivery and iterative development utilising onshore/offshore delivery teams and working with 3rd party partners.
