As you may know by now som3 like to support worthy charities and charitable events. So I suppose it wasn’t much of a surprise the other Friday when I overheard one side of a conversation whilst our MD, Steve Morrisey was on the phone. It went something like this: “What is it? When?, What’s the cause? Me, HA!! No, no chance!!, not for all the Tea in China!” but Neil’ll do it, sign him up”. He put the phone down and then yelled across the office, “Neil, you’re running the Hale 10k on 19th Feb for The Toy Appeal, we’re sponsoring the race!”. So, there you have it. I’m quite up for it as it goes as I ran the London Marathon in 2021 although I haven’t run much since so it will be good to run for a good cause again.

THE TOY APPEAL provide a sack of toys at Christmas to children, aged 0 – 17 years old, who are living in poverty. The Appeal has been running since 2013. To date, The Toy Appeal have made Christmas Day very special for thousands of children across the North West of England. So, I not only need to strap on my running trainers and do some training, but I also need to do some fund raising. Watch this space for a JustGiving sponsor link as it would be great to get donations for this worthy cause, especially during these financially trying times.

For more information on the race you can take a look at Home – Watersons HALE 10K where you will see our som3 logo standing proudly as one of the sponsors and we will post photos and a follow up post-race. Our MD says if we’re sponsoring the race I have to win, no pressure then!!
