We’re not going to kid ourselves over here at Team som3 that the last 2-3 months have been a bit wobbly in the IT/Tech space as far as recruitment is concerned (what with many Tech firms going into redundancy mode and TA teams having strict ‘no agency usage’ policies implemented due to decreased workloads in their own teams), Q1 has shown to be slower than usual (in fact MUCH slower than the heady post-Covid months on much of 2020/21). The one thing that has pleased (and mildly surprised) us is how stable the ServiceNow market has stayed consistent, with many companies hiring and preparing for Q2.

Our experienced ServiceNow Recruitment Team have been a little smug when seeing other areas of the business less buoyant, but at least the deal boards look healthy, as blood, sweat and tears goes into every role we’ve worked. What we have noticed this first quarter, is that many ServiceNow Partners we work with have a huge focus on growing out their Senior teams with a high demand for Senior Technical Consultants, Technical Leads and Technical Architects.

Our highly experienced ServiceNow recruitment team at som3 have worked in the ServiceNow space since its inception in 2005/6. Prior to this we were heavily involved in the Peregrine Systems, BMC/Remedy, CA Unicenter & HP Openview ITSM world. Luckily, we rub shoulders with such seasoned ServiceNow specialists as we have been alongside them for decades throughout their development and careers.

In addition, we are noticing more of a focus on permanent hires more so than contract roles, but our pipeline looks strong, with many ServiceNow Partners sealing new contracts and projects, ready to hit Q2 with a bang.

Now that the latest ServiceNow version (Utah) was released in February, this will allow businesses to benefit from the latest features and improvements – maximising their investment, reducing risk and avoiding the potential pitfalls of operating on an unsupported release. With ServiceNow Partners assisting with this upgrade, more work and positions will be given to those Consultants who complete the latest delta exam(s).
