Position: Senior Field Service Engineer – IT Hardware (Servers/Laptops/ EPOS)

Location: London/ Canning Town (within M25)

Salary: £27,000 (Full package worth around £40k!!)


  • £4000 on call/ overtime bonus (on call 10 times a year)

Are you a skilled Field Service Engineer with a knack for troubleshooting IT hardware? Our esteemed client, a leading IT Managed Services Provider (MSP), is seeking multiple Senior Field Service Engineers for roles based in London. If you possess hands-on field experience and an eagerness to expand your skills, this opportunity awaits you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on various products at client sites.
  • Install, maintain, and support server, desktop, and EPOS environments.
  • Configure and implement client software across diverse networking systems at multiple locations.
  • Adhere strictly to safety measures and established protocols.
  • Exhibit adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to acquire new proficiencies.
  • Foster positive working relationships with internal teams for effective call management and technical vetting.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and procedural requirements.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support to clients.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork within specified SLA deadlines, such as Customer Check sheets and Field Service Call Reports.
  • Collaborate with call allocators to ensure efficient SLA fulfilment.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in hardware break/fix for Laptops & Servers; familiarity with PC, Desktop, and EPOS systems is advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid UK driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites within Essex daily.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rota once every five weeks.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing IT industry experience.
  • Excellent time management and teamwork abilities.
  • Awareness of ITIL methodologies and best practices.
  • Previous experience in a similar Field Engineer role is highly desirable.
  • Keenness to maintain necessary Manufacturer Server Accreditations.
  • Functional knowledge of server/PC architecture, Windows operating systems, printer and EPOS troubleshooting, and break-fix procedures.
  • Competence in handling various technical challenges independently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a customer-centric approach.
  • Capability to perform effectively under pressure.
